Comparing Dianetics to therapy - my experience with both
I've done 3 years of CBT and 8 months of Dianetics. Thought I'd share my comparison: Therapy: Helped me understand my patterns and develop coping strategies. Good for managing symptoms. Dianetics: Helped me address the underlying trauma causing the symptoms. More focused on resolution than management. Both have value. Therapy taught me coping skills. Dianetics resolved the issues I was coping with. Just my experience - everyone's different.
6 months of Dianetics - my experience
I've been doing Dianetics for 6 months now. Here's my honest assessment: Pros: - No side effects (unlike meds) - Addressing root causes, not just symptoms - I feel more in control of my emotions - No ongoing medication costs Cons: - Takes time and commitment - Can be emotionally intense - Not covered by medical aid Overall: Best decision I've made for my mental health. But it requires dedication.
My first Dianetics session - honest review
Just had my first Dianetics auditing session in Pretoria. I was skeptical but desperate after years of failed treatments. Honest thoughts: It's different from therapy. The auditor doesn't give advice, just asks questions. I found myself talking about things I'd never discussed before. Felt emotionally drained but also... lighter? Too early to say if it works long-term, but I'm cautiously optimistic.
